Study by CA NORML and MAPS Find Vaporizers Illiminate Harmful Toxins

According to a new study by California NORML and MAPS, harmful toxins in marijuana smoke can be effectively avoided by a vaporization device.

The study tested vapors from cannabis heated in an herbal vaporizer known as the Volcano Vaporizer, and compared it to smoke produced by combusted marijuana. Also, They believe that the study results lend support for a wider use of vaporizers!

The Vaporizer is designed to heat material to temperatures of 130° to 230° C (266° to 446° F) where medically active vapors are produced, but below the threshold of combustion where smoke is formed.

The study said that people who vaporizer can avoid the respiratory hazards of smoking by using a vaporizer. In its 1999 report on smoking, the institute of medicine suggested against smoking long term, but DID NOT for the vaporizer.

While some argue that the Institute of Medicine overemphasized the dangers of marijuana smoke, all acknowledge that the smoke does contain many of the same harmful substances as tobacco smoke.

Like tobacco, marijuana tars are high in carcinogens known as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. However, the active ingredients themselves are not carcinogenic.
